City Mayor to Illegal Vendors: Vacate the sidewalks!

IMG_0149City Mayor Japal J. Guiani, Jr. headed the demolition of illegal stalls and other structures on the sidewalks along the Megamarket area, Thursday morning.

This operation, in coordination with the Traffic Management Unit and the City Engineering Office, is made after vendors did not heed the warnings given by the city government that they must find a stall inside the megamarket or their stalls will be demolished.

City Government declares State of Calamity in Drought stricken villages

IMG_0474The Sangguniang Panlungsod puts 19 barangays in Cotabato City under the State of Calamity after being heavily affected by the dry spell.

The barangays include Tamontaka and Kalanganan where majority of the farm lands and fishponds are located. As of today, farming has been stopped and most of the fish ponds are drying up resulting to very low production.

DA promises to support Halal Slaughterhouse Operation

IMG_0420In his recent visit to Cotabato City, Department of Agriculture Secretary Proceso Alcala promised to give his full support to the operations of the Halal Slaughterhouse.

With the opening of the Halal Slaughterhouse in Cotabato City drawing near, Secretary Alcala has committed to the officials of Cotabato City that he will be giving high breed cows, goats, and sheep.

Test Run of Halal Slaughterhouse equipments gets thumbs up.

11028970_863182650391422_3424467108128136182_nThe Double "A" Halal Slaughterhouse in Cotabato City impressed the officials of the National Meat Inspection Services during the testing of all its equipments, Wednesday dawn.

The 20-million peso facility has state-of-the-art stainless equipments which were all tested for the very first time as live cattle was brought there to be butchered and be sold to the market on the same day.

Observance of Fire Prevention Month in Cotabato City, successful.

The City's Bureau of Fire Protection has successfully conducted several activities in line with the observance of the National Fire Prevention Month this March.

Their activities kicked off with a simultaneous conduct of ''walk for a fire-free and a fire-safe nation'' participated by firefighters, fire volunteers, public servants, NGO's, students, professionals and others.
